Medical Assistant certification or LPN license or Paramedic license
The role of the Medical Assistant is vital to the care of the patients of Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics. We are committed to providing excellent clinical care that requires teamwork, dedication to job responsibilities and compassion for all we serve. The medical assistant works side by side with our clinical providers in a fast paced, quality driven expectation for care environment and must be able to contribute to a positive overall patient experience.
- Candidates must have a Medical Assistant degree/diploma or at least 2 years of on-the-job experience directly related to working in a healthcare clinic setting, preferably in a Family Practice or Pediatric environment.
- Must be computer savvy and able to use electronic medical records software easily. Candidate must understand the importance of HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and medical terminology.
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Record systems needed, preferably with ECW (eClinicalWorks)
- Position includes various duties such as but not limited to the following: injections, vaccinations, blood draws, prior authorizations, phone calls, triage of patients so that accurate documentation of medical history is obtained, taking vital signs, update medical record as needed with other information pertinent to clinical care, arrange hospital admissions, prior authorization on medication or diagnostic services as needed, referrals to other levels of care as needed or recommended by clinician and quality guidelines, appropriate grammar and spelling is crucial as you are scribing directly into the patient’s chart timely and accurately
- Must have excellent communication skills to serve as a contributing team member and the ability to provide compassionate care and understanding to patients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Position offers Paid-Time Off (PTO), in addition to medical, dental, life insurance and 401k to full-time employees.
- Full-time position, working Monday to Friday and NO WEEKENDS at our Smyrna or Murfreesboro location as needed.
- Pay is based on experience and certification.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
