Part-Time Temporary Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric)

Employment Type: Temporary | Part-Time
Duration: June 1 – August 31 (Summer Coverage)

Reports To: Medical Director / Supervising Physician

Position Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time Temporary Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical coverage during the summer months (June through August). This role supports increased seasonal patient volume, well visits, sports physicals, and provider PTO coverage.  The ideal candidate is efficient, team-oriented, and comfortable managing a full pediatric patient panel in a fast-paced outpatient setting. 

Schedule   

  • Very flexible arrangement for the right candidate.
  • Ideally, 2–3 days per week. Option for full weeks when other providers are out.
  • Clinic hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Minimal call requirement by phone/text only

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care (newborn through age 18)
  • Conduct well-child exams and sports physicals
  • Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and injuries
  • Provide anticipatory guidance and parent education
  • Document visits accurately and efficiently in the EMR (Athena)
  • Collaborate with supervising physician and care team
  • Maintain productivity expectations aligned with practice standards

Qualifications

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the State of Tennessee
  • Board Certified (CPNP, FNP with pediatric experience)
  • DEA license (active and unrestricted)
  • Pediatric outpatient experience preferred
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Productivity Expectations

  • Target: 23 patients per day
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and coding accuracy
  • Participate in brief team huddles as needed

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and half-day sessions worked.
  • Malpractice coverage provided during assignment
  • No benefits (temporary position)
