CME: Scoliosis, Bonfield-Murfreesboro

Scoliosis is a lateral curvature of the spine greater than 10 degrees. Presence is 2-4% of children between 10 and 16 years of age, it is very commonly diagnosed by pediatricians and primary care providers. In the majority of the cases, no specific underlying etiology is found. Treatment varies from observation or bracing, to surgical correction for severe cases. This CME talk is an overview of pediatric scoliosis, including: natural history, physical examination, measuring the curve magnitude, curve patterns, red flags, and treatment options. Other neurosurgical spine abnormalities that are associated with scoliosis, such as Chiari Malformation and tethered spinal cord will also be discussed.Register Here

CPF is presenting a movie night for Prevent Child Abuse TN's video screening of Resilience: The Biology Of Stress & The Science Of Hope at the Vanderbilt Children’s Theater.
CPF will provide movie snacks!
The film connects Adverse Childhood Events with major health issues that develop as adults (such as heart disease, obesity, lung cancer, etc.) The film highlights a series of questions that can be incorporated into well child appointments, to determine the risk level of a child. The film briefly highlights how this study & movement has been recognized and "blessed" by the AAP.Register Here
